Woah-quite the movie
Wow--I didn't know the movie would be almost as graphic as the book. Can't say it was an "enjoyable" watch but the film was certainly gripping and attention getting.
I thoughtBLINDNESS (the book and the movie) shows just how desperate humankind (society) can become when stressed, traumatized, scared etc. Also, when a person has hit the absolute bottom, one can only "up", which in effect, causes one to appreciate the basic necessities of life--love, food, shelter, water, and I will add a hot shower! Maybe we are all blind until we realize this?

Movie Based on Blindness
Interesting! Not a film about blindness - a film about human nature!

Blindness Study Guide
Here's a link to a study guide you might want to check out. It gives a partial synopsis (chapter by chapter) about Blindness. Might be helpful.

Hi Beth--I am going to try to post again! I have finished Blindness---It was a disturbing book but well written (the style was unusual). Interesting how the author didn't use names and lacked punctuation between the different characters speaking--maybe that is because the author wanted us to feel blind as well and "feel" our way as to who was speaking. Definitely a tangent from our usual book club readings. Will be interested in what others think!

Try posting
o.k. - now I think the blog is set up so that anyone from our our book club can post a comment. Give it a try. If it's not working, I'll continue to work on it. Hopefully everyone received a new invitation to join. I'm finding Blindness engaging, but disturbing as well!
